 Winona State University Employees Receive School Counselor Awards

WSU employees are honored by SEMSCA.
​WINONA, Minn. –  Several Winona State University employees were honored by the Southeastern Minnesota School Counselor’s Association (SEMSCA) at its annual spring awards/recognition banquet April 12. 

Dawnette Cigrand, professor of counselor education at WSU, met extensive state level requirements for nomination in Outstanding Leadership and received a SEMSCA Division Award. In addition, WSU employees Andrea Bjornestad, assistant professor of counselor education in Rochester, and Carl Stange, director of admissions, were recognized by the SEMSCA Board. Stange has been the Government Relations Chair for three years.


SEMSCA is one of 11 school counseling divisions that make up the Minnesota School Counselors Association (MSCA). 


The awards will be presented at the Annual MSCA Spring Conference in Brainerd April 30.
