 Winona State University Theatre and Dance Department Holds Public Auditions

The Winona State University Theatre and Dance Department will hold public auditions for the 2011-12 main stage productions.
WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University Theatre and Dance Department will hold public auditions for the 2011-12 main stage productions.
 
The season includes "Mirrors," "Noises Off," "Almost, Maine," "The Adventures of Treasure Island," "This Wide Night," the "Student Senior Dance Concert," and "Dancescape 2012."
 
Auditions will be held for the comedy "Noises Off" at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, on the Performing Arts Center Main Stage. Performances for "Noises Off" will be Oct. 12-15. Auditions for "Almost, Maine" will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, in the Dorothy B. Magnus Theatre in the PAC. Performances will be Nov. 16-20.
 
Callbacks for "Noises Off" and "Almost, Maine" will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, in the PAC.
 
Auditions for "Dancescape 2012" will be held 6-9:30 p.m. Aug. 29-30 in Memorial Hall Dance Studio, room 300. Performances for "Dancescape 2012" will be Feb. 16-18.
 
Audition dates for "The Adventures of Treasure Island" will be Jan. 10-11.  Performance dates for elementary schools will be March 27-29. Public performance dates will be March 30-31.
 
For auditions, community members and WSU non-theatre majors will be asked to read from the scripts of "Noises Off," "Almost, Maine," or "The Adventures of Treasure Island." WSU theatre majors are required to prepare two contrasting monologues, each no longer than one minute. No preparation material is required for "Dancescape 2012."
 
All auditions are open to the community except "Mirrors" and "This Wide Night," which have been cast.
 
All productions will be held in the Performing Arts Center.
