Winona State University National Society of Collegiate Scholars Earns National Award

WSU's chapter of National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) has earned the Platinum STAR award.
The Winona State University chapter of National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) has earned the Platinum STAR award, the highest honor designated to an individual chapter, for the third consecutive year.

The Platinum STAR award was created to honor NSCS chapters that have established exemplary status. Chapters are required to hold an induction ceremony for new members, create a student mentorship program, hold campus–wide events to support the NSCS integrity initiative, create an on-campus membership recruitment campaign and engage a campus office in a chapter event.

Receiving the Platinum STAR award earned the chapter a $500 scholarship, an advertisement in the campus newspaper, a letter to the president of WSU recognizing the chapter’s success and a 15 percent discount at the NSCS store.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is an honors organization for high-achieving freshmen and sophomores with more than 300 student-run chapters at universities across the country. The WSU chapter was founded in 2000.
